This series of courses helps you improve your speaking skills over time. It focuses on improving the fluency, accuracy, and variety in your spoken word. Your improved command over the English language helps develop your personality and confidence. There are three levels:
The aim of this program is to make you ready for taking up the responsibilities of a job or profession. The most important ingredient of any profession is the domain knowledge, ie, a doctor’s domain knowledge is medicine, and so on.
The second most important skill is the ability to communicate. Unless you communicate your knowledge in the most appropriate manner, your knowledge will be as good as sterile or even dead.
The CDC aims at improving your communication skills to render your domain knowledge productive.
To help you focus on the specific situations you face in your work or business, we have six (6) Career Development Skills to choose from.
Anyone who needs to develop their presentation skills, speak in front of groups or sell ideas to others.
You will be able to tailor your presentation to your audience in a powerful and convincing way. You will learn to structure your address and manage the impact convincingly, deal skilfully with difficult questions and situations—in short, turn yourself into a skilled presenter.
Anyone who negotiates in a business context.
You will be able to learn the language necessary to negotiate in English effectively and powerfully. You will learn to present proposals and counter-proposals, accepting or rejecting them, taking care of obstacles, and finally wrap up the deal.
Anyone who writes emails or letters in the course of their work.
You will be able to plan, design, and write emails effectively, to increase their clarity, impact, and professionalism. You learn to draft and organise clear, direct, positive, reader-centered, and logical emails in authentic real life business contexts.
Anyone wishes to appear for job interviews.
You will be able to learn the verbal and non-verbal language necessary to present yourself, including your strength and weaknesses, at interviews, maintain your cool during the interviews, and end the interview appropriately.
Receptionist or customer service executives, the first point of contact for their customers and suppliers, who make and answer calls on behalf of their organisations.
You will be able to make and receive telephone calls with an appropriate level of politeness in a business setting, attend challenging calls while maintaining a high degree of customer care, and generally improve telephonic interactions with an enhanced level of clarity and professionalism.
Anybody who wishes to improve their pronunciation and general comprehensibility. For instance, if you have a thick accent and people cannot understand you the first time, if you deal with foreigners who find it difficult to understand your pronunciation, or if you simply wish to improve the way you enunciate.
You will be able to speak clearly, with the correct intonation, pitch, stress, and fluency. The clarity of your spoken word will improve. You will be able to express your emotions and feelings in your spoken word unmistakably. This will then help you express yourself clearly, confidently, assertively, and effectively.
