This is a grammatical jargon which simply says that the actor comes in the beginning of the sentence and the action word comes just after it. In other words, it follows the SVO pattern. We normally speak in this manner. So, English has a lot of sentences in the active voice than otherwise.
One example of an active voice sentence could be:
I play hockey.
Here, I is the ACTOR that performs the ACTION play.
Some other examples of sentences in the active voice could be:
My son plays the guitar.
Philosophy is attitude that acts as a guiding principle for behaviour.
Amoxicillin is a prescription drug.
The court is in session.
AS 32 has been made mandatory by the ICAI.
A sentence with more information could read like this:
I will make you some coffee.
NOTE: The sentence actually means,
I will make some coffee for you.
The beneficiary of the action should ideally come in after the receiver of the action. But modern English has changed the word order into ACTOR-ACTION-BENEFICIARY-RECEIVER
