There are no quick fixes in life
QUESTION:
If I complete a particular level, will I become an expert in that level and start speaking like a native speaker – straight away?
ANSWER:
NOT AT ALL!
It works like this:
You complete one level. Incidentally, a level is roughly 30 hours long. Some people take more, but a vast majority of them complete it in 30 hours. And, not surprisingly, I have had a few students who completed the levels in less time as well!
But, coming back to the point, when you complete one level, your English at that level is soft like a cotton ball. That’s because you’ve just learnt the structures and vocabulary. Your English will then FEEL like this:

Then, you go on to the next level. At the end of the second level, you revise the chunks you learnt in the previous level. On top of that, you learn newer chunks – words and structures. This makes your first level stronger, and your second level will be soft and pliable like a cotton ball.
In other words, your English could FEEL something like this:

And when you complete the 3rd level, again you will have learnt newer chunks, and repeated and revised the chunks of the earlier two levels. Then, your first level becomes even stronger, like a brick wall, and your your second level will become firmer than the cotton ball it was previously. And your third level will now be like that cotton ball – delicate and fragile. It won’t be able to take on any weight – you won’t be ready to use those chunks at will or confidently.
In other words, your English would FEEL something like this:

The first level will harden up and become real strong. The second level will become firmer. And the third, new level, which you have just completed, will be like a cotton ball.
So, there will always be a two level gap between your just completed level and your actual practical level. Your practical level will be two levels below the just completed level.
The reason is very simple.
The course has been programmed in such a way that:
- The structures and vocabulary in your latest level will be new to you. So, their strength will be obviously low.
- When you go to the second level, the first level will be automatically revised – that’s the way the methodology works. This will strengthen the first level, and the second level will be SOFT like a cotton ball.
- After you complete the third level, the first level will become rock hard, the second level will become firmer, and the third level will be like a cotton ball, delicate and fragile.
