Voice Quality (Pronunciation Skills)

Have you had people ask you to repeat what you said? Or maybe say that they cannot understand your accent? Or maybe they couldn’t understand the word you uttered? Or maybe you couldn’t understand a native speaker?

Then you definitely need the TELW Voice Quality Training.

It’s well known that if you can pronounce the words and phrases correctly, and use the correct intonation of the language, your comprehensibility will automatically be better.

What our training does is precisely this. You will learn to enunciate the sounds correctly, use the correct pitch and intonation to express your emotion behind your words precisely, and apply the correct stresses in the correct places to give clarity to your spoken word.

Now, it is very important to know that we do not aim at giving you any specific accent, or make you lose your accent. You are who you are. And your accent is a part of your unique personality. We seriously discourage you from ‘adopting’ any foreign accent. Be true to yourself. Your mother tongue is a part of your personality – do not try to ‘ditch’ it.

Nor do we try to ‘neutralize’ your accent. This is even worse. It’s like leaving you half dead!

What we are aiming at is to help you with the correct way the sounds should be enunciated, knowing the intonation, or the music of the language, so as to help you accomplish your communication objective easily – get your thoughts across and make sure the receiver got them the way you wanted them to.

So, in our program you will learn:

      • Fluency tools
      • Stresses – word and sentence
      • Pitch patterns
      • Intonation and thought groups

Language-wise, you need to be at least a TELW Level B3. At lower levels, this program will be of limited use. Therefore, the extent of coverage will also be limited.
